First, which layer are you building: a driver and delivery app, real-time tracking and routing, fleet and telematics, warehouse and scanning, or a platform spanning several? Second, how much of the value depends on offline field reliability and real-time performance versus back-office features? Third, do you need one accountable app or a large multi-part platform? App-led firms suit focused driver or delivery apps where field reliability is the priority. Scale and platform firms suit large, multi-part logistics builds. Ask every finalist for a live logistics app in production, how it handles offline and real-time, and which TMS, WMS, and ERP systems it has integrated with.
