Remote position.

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with strong experience in Node.js and React to join our engineering team. You will design and ship web applications that handle real load, work closely with product and design, and own the quality of what you build.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using Node.js and React.

  • Build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and QA.

  • Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical improvements.

  • Debug and optimize applications for performance.

  • Deploy and support production when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Node.js and React.

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS.

  • Experience with REST APIs, JWT authentication, and API security.

  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.

  • Good problem-solving and clear written communication - async teams depend on it.

  • Familiarity with databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or GCP preferred).

  • Actively uses AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) in daily development. This is table stakes in 2026, not a bonus.

Good to have

  • Experience with Next.js and TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and basic CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience building multi-tenant SaaS products or enterprise integrations.

  • Understanding of performance optimization and caching strategies.

Hard filters - don't apply if

  • You have under 3 years of production Node.js and React experience.

  • You have never shipped a live application that real users depend on.

  • You are not using AI coding tools in your current development workflow.

  • You need detailed specifications before you can start building - and cannot push back when requirements are ambiguous.

  • You are not comfortable working in a fully async, remote environment.

How we work

Fully remote. Async-first: technical decisions, code review notes, and status updates move through documentation and structured handoffs, not daily standups. Flexible hours - we care about what ships and how it performs.

Developers at RaftLabs own what they build from design review to production. You flag risks early, communicate blockers without being asked, and use AI tools to move faster without cutting corners on quality. Clean, maintainable code is expected - "we can refactor later" is not a reason to ship something fragile.

Annual offsite: the full team meets in person once a year.

Benefits

  • 5-day work week: healthy work-life balance, not just a talking point.

  • Fully remote: work from wherever suits you.

  • Your setup, your call: no office, no commute.

  • Flexible hours: we care about what ships, not when you log in.

  • Annual offsites: the whole team meets in person once a year.

Questions about this role

RaftLabs builds with Node.js and React as the primary full stack combination, alongside Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL or MongoDB depending on the project. APIs follow REST standards with JWT authentication. Cloud deployment runs on AWS or GCP.
Full Stack Developers at RaftLabs build custom web applications for clients in the UK, EU, and North America across sectors including hospitality, loyalty, and B2B SaaS. Projects range from greenfield product builds to API integrations to enterprise platform work.
Yes. The position is fully remote. RaftLabs is an async-first team, so developers set their own hours and are measured on what they ship, not when they log in.
The process is short: a conversation about your work and how you approach engineering problems, a technical exercise close to the actual job, and a final call with a founder. No whiteboard puzzles - the exercise reflects real delivery work.
